From the picture of the box it appears to be the die-cut version. That's the old box art. But the formers looked to be laser cut. The notches in the formers look very precise. I'm rather amazed at how well that model flew. Much better than I ever got the Guillow 150 to fly.
I think your Laser Cut model will do o.k. I would still try to reduce the weight as best I could without altering the overall appearance of the model.
Also, keep in mind how big of a rubber motor that guy had in his model.
