Piper Super Cub 95 Build

Postby mshutts » Mon May 23, 2022 2:10 am

HI Folks,
I am relatively new to this hobby. I am going to be building the Piper Super Cub 95 for Rubber power flight. I would appreciate any advice or tips you can offer. I will post pics as I move along.
Thanks in advance. :)

Which one are you building the 300 series or 600 series. I've built both of them. The larger, 300 series, one can be made to fly without too much difficulty. The 600 series one is a good flier built right out of the box but working out a removable nose block can make it easier to handle the rubber on either one of them.

Good luck!

Nice pics, I am building the 600 model. It is going ok so far. Mine will not look as fancy as Kitty's I have limited resources here in Uganda. So it will be right out of the box. But looking forward to the flights. Have not shrunk the tissue yet, need to cut out around the windows first.

All finished, now to see if it will fly. I made it light and did not have to put any balance weight in the nose. We will see if I need any for trimming.

Great job building and covering! Adding small paper trim tabs to all control surface trailing edges helps with the flight trimming. Plenty of info on the net regarding this.
Let's see some flight data! Pics, video

Sorry, I have been a bit busy and not able to get on the post. I will try to fly the plane soon and a BF 109 I am working on. Then I will post some pics and video. Thanks for all the nice comments.
