Thanks, I have built a stuka with sheeted fuse and wings. It is a 4 channel RC with a norvell .074....A p40 with sheeted fuse and wings U control with a cox tee dee .051. Now I am building a 150 FF with silkspan and a cox .020.tried the tissue that came with the kit but kept tearing it with my big Fred Flintstone hands.

Hello, New Guy, did you use the fill-in method or did you cover with 1/32-inch sheet? I'm the resident old, arthritic, dyslexic, hippy, who survived drugs. Been plane crazy since childhood, Carolina lug nut too, if the world were to end tomorrow, I'd adjust. 8) How did the 1000 series Stuka build go? I've got the 1000 series P-47, was going to build it as a 6 channel electric RC but, don't have the skills yet. . So I'm going to build it as rubber powered free flight, I hope :?: Built a 900 series P-51 years ago did OK. Until the first powered flight, the rubber thread imploded it like a tourniquet. Some of the guys here on the forum are real artists when it comes to building light, me I'm learning

WB, I used the fill in method on the front and then covered the whole fuse with 1/32. I did this on the Stuka and the P40, I also sheeted the wings with 1/32 balsa. I then covered with coverlite and Rustolium with a coat of clear dope.they are both a tad heavy. The Stuka was a fun build and flys well with the Norvel .074.Have not Flown the P40 u control yet. but the tee dee should pull it fine.Im getting back in practice on the cessna 150.I have not done dope and silkspan in a long long long time.(and it shows)but I plan on getting a lot of practice.

The Rustoleum cans are good paints. I've used them over Microlite with good results. They also seem to have good pigmentation compared with some other sprays I've used, requiring very little for good coverage.
