Curved wing ribs

Postby nickelbeer » Thu Nov 19, 2015 2:51 pm

The two models I built before - a Mustang and a Spad both had wing ribs with a flat lower edge. No problem there. The T-6 I am building from scratch with plans has symmetrical air foils. I can't figure out a construction technique since the leading and trailing edges are raised up off the plan. Is there a simple answer I am ignorant of?

I've never actually done it but you can block-up under the leading and trailing edges with appropriate spacers. Find a way so as not to glue these spacers on. Check out some plans on outerzoneuk.com. Good luck, hope it turns out!

Laser cut kits have dashed lines to cut off the flat bottom on the "build on top of plan" tequnique. If not a jig is what I have seen used.

Is this for rubber power?
