Wid,

Looks good. Are you trying to get it to fly straight, or turn in circles?. IMO, if it flies in a circle, it will be easier to recover than if it flies straight.

Good post good question. I could be wrong but I try to adjust the trust angle to get straight trim flights. Than the model hopefully will pick up a left turn on it's own during regular flights. I built this model LC and on it's third trim flight it flew into a tree. I think this model has a lot of potential. If I can get past the trimming I think I would be ok.

While waiting for better wreather i did some math. I decided to try a 5.5 " prop and 2 loops or 4 strands of 1/8 " rubber. I have pretty much ruled out the 7" and 6" props.

Well not the best video but it does show this model flying. BTW the model banks to the left and misses the tree. It does land safely in the next field.

Starting on new project. All sheet Kit that are available from Ebay i.e. Paul Bradly. Although Guillow's does not make this type of kit. They are mentioned in Don Ross's book. I built one before and it was an excellent flyer. In my opinion I think Guillow's should at least consider making a All Sheet kit. I still consider myself a good Guillow's customer. https://youtu.be/Uu56PB6V1lY

I have been thinking about buying one of these all sheet kits off eBay. After seeing your video I might buy one. What kit is in the video? I'll be watching your build.

Hi John. The name of the kit I think is a the Arrow Jet. Originally made by Carl Goldburg. If I remember I used 1/8 "rubber and a 6 " Peck Polymer prop.

While looking up the kit I noticed that Guillow s did make a series of sheet Balsa kits. I will try to find out more about them

I was able to find a photo of a 1950's series Guillow's kit. Does not say anything about it being a flying model.

I love that box design. Even the Sensational Die Cut feature on it. And for that time it contained the newest cutting edge North Scorpion jet. I can just imagine all the "High and Tight" haircut kids waiting in line to get it, kinda like the old Nasa documentaries where all the guys have same haircuts, pocket protectors and smoking Camel non filters or Winstons.

I thought it would be fair to also show the Guillow's Bird Dog in action.
