to view the attachements

Postby Balsa Pilot » Fri Apr 03, 2015 12:44 pm

Hi Mark,
first let me start by saying how cool this forum is, and how neat it is to be included.

I have a couple of questions,
Many times I see on the individual postings:
"You do not have the required permissions to view the file attached to this post". Obviously, how do I GET the permission, please?
Next, I tried to participate in the G Challenge by joining Yahoo etc, do I have to wait for their approval?, and if that's so, then how do I post pictures to that site.
Lastly(for now) I don't seem to be able to post pictures to the forum from my computer, and would like to contribute some of my aircraft plus new builds as well.

In advance thanks for your cooperation and a great forum.
It's a pleasure to be involved

Henry,

This one - "You do not have the required permissions to view the file attached to this post" could mean you are not logged in to this forum. Next time you sign in, click "remember me" or "keep me logged in forever". I am not sure which is used here...

The Yahoo site - Yes, you need to be approved. It took me sending the site owner an private message here on this forum...

Posting pic - Down past the bottom of the window that you type a new message in, there is a picture uploader. Upload first the remember to click Add File just to the right of it when done uploading.

Hope I helped a little bit.

Hi to all, I am having a lot of problems trying to upload photo's. I have decided to take a course in how to accomplish it, looks like you need a degree to make it work though! I keep getting a message that the file is to big and too reduce it to 256 kbs. I know it can be done because of all the pics I see here. Off course this is not a photography forum but I do wonder at the system being so complicated.
Thanks for all your recent help, Old Brampton.

Open your pictures in some type of photo editor and reduce the size. There are many free ones you can download, I use Gimp and my wife like Pinta. Should also be able to on Paint that comes with Windows. May be some how to videos on youtube. The size limit is to reduce bandwidth and storage cost.

On your Windows machine:

Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Paint

Once you have Paint open, Open your image and then click Resize.

Select percentage and maintain aspect ration.

Type in a percentage (I have to use 25% to get my cell phone pics small enough for this site). Hit OK.

SAVE AS. Use Save As so you do not dink with the original image.
