Did you cut the upper spar flush with the root rib? The plans call for the upper spar to extend into the cabin area. If so what would be the reasoning for it?

I plan to strengthen the attachment points with 1/64" plywood. I will add a picture after I do it.

Excellent job! Well done. I like that you copied the box art. I just have a few questions for you.

Do you have a way to adjust your thrust line?
What prop are you going to use?
How much rubber are you planning?
What is the AUW / Wing loading?

24" of grey rubber. I'm not quite done, and so have'nt weighed it yet,but I understand these are excellent fliers. oh, and since I infilled the cowl I had a perfect balance.and I hear the kit prop works best. It has a good amount of downthrust naturally, but I can easily add a shim if necessary.there is a great video on another thread of the same plane,and it flies incredible.

is 55g's final weight too haevy. I have 24" of rubber. I should've double looped it.

I took it for a flight the other day. I know It is balanced good,and straight, but it was a bit windy, and I released it into the wind( maybe 8mph gust),and it did a loop, the wing broke off, and so I went home. Again I like to ask is 55g too heavy, and also next time I'm gonna double loop the rubber motor.

I went back to my build post cause i dont want to highjack another post. I've had alot of time off the last week and apolagize for overposting, but I'm workin on like 3 or 4 projects . All in different stages, But anyway, I removed most of the tissue, and bunched it inti a ball,put it on the scale. It weighed 5.5grams. Obviously not the problem.I infilled around the nose,but it needed balance weight and they dont have a complete cowl like on other planes, so I wanted to reinforce the thrust region anyhows. I dont know. I use a elmers glue stick to apply the tissue,but so does almost everyone. I'm doing something wrong. I will say that on My Lancer; I used no dope, and just sealed the wood and tissue with clear spray Laquer. Whats the difference between Enamel, and laquer, and can you use them together?

This thing is exactly the same size as My Hobby Zone Champ. It has a motor, Rx, and battery. It weighs 38grams. I dont think they are making the Little Champ anymore cause its hard to get parts, and they are expensive.I went on ebay to find a receiver for it,and the RTF new ones are like $100.00 now ! I Love it cause I learned how to fly with it, but I aint payin $70 for that 3 channel Firehazzard they call a receiver.But. it would be a very easy conversion due to the similarities of the 2 planes. I just got to lighten it a little.

ok. I am overhauling the original build. I cut lightening holes in wings so far, and lessened each wing .7grams. I am building a new tail and lightening it ever place I can. I am determined to make one of these fly well on rubber. I bought 36" of 3/32 FAI contest rubber.

My understanding is that you can apply enamel over lacquer, but not vise-versa. I've done both with Model Masters paints without issue, but don't care to unless it's something like applying lacquer dull coat over an enamel finish, where I haven't had any issues as of yet. If you really want light, you can't beat an airbrush for applying the most even, light coat possible for good color coverage, since it atomizes the paint much better than spray bombs. I would have been at least a few grams heavier on my 190 build, if the majority of the paint work was done with bombs versus airbrushing.
