Help!!

Postby Szyp » Fri Jun 10, 2011 7:01 am

I am fresh out of ideas on how to keep the tail wheel on the B 17G I am building. The wooden wheel jist mounts on the skinny wire landing gear. I have tried every gimcrack and gewgaw I can think of and am drawing a blank. Any suggestions would be appreciated- by the way, I am building it for static display. :?:

Add aluminum tube inside the wheel? Have to see a picture to see what the issue is.

I came up with a solution- I went to my local, friendly Ace Hardware folks and bought one foot of the smallest diameter clear plastic flexible hose they have for 39 cents and it slid on the gear perfectly and is the correct dimension. Voila!!
I answered my own question, and no, this was not a test!!

I kinda like the solder iron, no real reason, the tubing works just as well, I just have the old school techniques planted in me. The tubing is way cheaper and a lot less time consuming.
