Helloooo!

Postby Squishyp38 » Mon Feb 28, 2011 10:09 am

Hi! My name is Nathaniel, I live in Vermont, I am 14 years old, and the P-38 is awesome. Anyway, just wanted to say hello. I am currently building a TBM Avenger, 500 series, and I will try to post pics. Also, I am a little bit afraid to cover, it with tissue, I have dope, but for some reason don't want to use it. I am an avid multitasker, and have a typhoon build and a p-38 build going now, same time as everything else. peace out.
The P-38 is arguably the best... Forget that, it is THE BEST fighter of world war two, and is epically AWESOME!

Yep, the 38 is a neat plane, but it's like building 3 planes at once. I've built so durned many of em, that I've decided never again...

Bill, you seem to have alot of experiance in the modelling buiseness. I was wondering, I personally, and I am sure other people too, would enjoy seeing you make models of the X-planes, like the "Black Bullet" or the "XF-11" or the "Twin Mustang" and such.

Oh, forgot to mention, but I have a FINISHED Zero that was my first build, and I knew it was too heavy to fly, so I didn't want to waste dope, so I stuck the tissue on with a glue stick. Pictures are promised, as soon as I know how to post them.

even if it was too heavy to fly, i would have at least built it for show. sometimes i find it best to walk away from my builds for a bit just to "sleep on it" and come back to it later. always helps. dont get me wrong, im a patient dude, but just every once and a while you want to just throw it in the trash. ive never tried the glue stick method. maybe i will. a lot of people know more about the white glue method so i just use that. plus once you start somthing, and get good results, id hate to switch it over. welcome to the forum.

as for the posting pictures, get yourself a photobucket acount, download those pics onto your acound. then, copy and paste the direct link inbetween the [img] things. an example---

note that you do not put the las [img] at the end, i did that so you could see what i mean. now without it, you got

this plane isnt even finished yet. still some touchups... i got sidetracked with several other projects... hope to get to it soon, good luck :D [/img]

always finish EVERY project. You'll learn alot from each plane, and unfortunately, we learn the most from the planes we mess up.

I have plans for all sorts of large projects. This spring we'll look at the FW-190 400 series blown way up, the Sopwith Camel very big, the 400 series Zero-Sen blown, and the B-25 blown to 112"...

Stay tuned...

Oh and Dave meant that you have a good attitude! Stay with it!

Oh, I did build the rufe for show, and it looks good. I just need to paint it, and I will be all set. And do I NEED a photobucket account?

you can use photo-whatsis, but most guys use:

Remember, that this is Guillow's (and Comet) all other manufacturer's kits are posted elsewhere... So you'll see how useful VA is...
