Jack, Do you plan on flying this plane? Are you going to leave it white? Great job on a clean build and good job on covering.

scigs30

I cut the struts to the static length early on because with this first build I just don't want to see her hit the deck and come apart. So, the plan is to paint her and hang from the ceiling.

I'm almost ready to prime. I plan to use the technique you told me about for cementing the canopy after I paint the final coat, but before I attach the wings. I can't think of a way my fingers will fit if I attach the wings first and I'm not confident I can mask the canopy well enough in place to paint.

I really liked the way you did the landing struts on your piper and I enjoyed seeing the flying photos too.

p.s.
I'm a little worried that the photos of the full scale Piper Cubs that I posted in "My Piper Cub" gave the impression that I actually own one. I posted them as my inspiration for the model, but I didn't think through the impression it might make on the other forum members.

Thanks, Ronnie.

Closer up photos would reveal the flaws in my workmanship, though.

Looking Good!

I am very impressed with the precision and the finishing. I am also impressed with the quality and layout of the Guillow's Kit. I have never bought one of these since I usually do the warbirds thing, but this is on my list now. Great Work!
