Rescale help needed

Postby NcGunny » Sun May 24, 2015 3:41 pm

So I have spent 2 days looking for Stampe SV4C kits and/or plans. Emails and telephone came up with nada. Finally ran across plans on Hippocket after a suggestion from Mitch. Problem is that the plans have a "54 inch wing span and I live nowhere near a print or office supply that can reduce or print em up. Last few times I found plans they were in the size I needed and was abke to cut the plans on pc to fit regular paper. Does anyone have a suggestion on reducing my plans so I can accomplish this?

If you have access to a scanner, they have a reduce function. May have to do some scotch taping.

We have a scanner but the plans I get are electronic version. I heard Photoshop will work if you can find a working version on a P2P client. A bought version is in the 600.00+ range, kinda cost prohibitive.

Have you tried GIMP? It's free and does nearly anything Photoshop does.

I print them out in "poster" form in My printer menu, and do the taping together thing. A little tedious, but We are model builders; so its no big deal. Gives You time to really look over the plans too.

Post a link to your plan download, and I'll make it any size you want... But the guys are right, you be printing images, then trimming em and tapeing them together... It'll work tho...

Go back to hip pocket.

Put your mouse over the file link you clicked to get it in the first place...

Right click your mouse and choose copy address

go here, and reply, then right click your mouse and choose paste...

It's a lot of work but you can print out Adobe PDF drawings using Microsoft Paint and an 8.5" x 11" printer. I superimpose a 1" x 1" blue dotted grid over the image to make sure everything is printing out at the scale I want, and to help align the pages when I glue them together.

see if this works. Should be as close to 23" as I could get it...

zip file has 8 images in it. Print each image, 8.5 by 11, in portrait...

Trim with scissors, and tape together...

Let me know...

If it was me doing it, I think I'd print two copies...

The plan went together fairly well, but there's going to be some drafting to make it perfectly buildable...

It's really a pretty kewl plan, I may get it printed in 11 x 17 and build it 30 to 35" range...

I have plans for a 2 seater also if you would prefer that. I have been hoarding 2 Lewis Guns that will fit this scale perfectly.
